The cold evening in Isla Damai starts with Jalil (Gerald Anderson) thoroughly instructing his Tausug community how to protect themselves by using firearms in order to also prevent the previous tragedy from occurring again.
Midway through the instructions, Jalil is notified about the armed set of men that are arriving at the island. Immediately, he tells everyone to go hide in preparation for a clever and bloodless confrontation.
Just as the men assumed that Isla Damai was already empty, Jalil caught their attention, clutching his kris sword and commanding them to leave. Finding it amusing, the leader of the armed group belittled the lone Jalil, making it clear that they had outnumbered him.
Within moments, Ramli (Alex Medina) takes charge of the brave residents in ambushing the armed crew. When they were completely surrounded, Jalil emphasized that they wouldn’t ever wish for chaos, but they certainly wouldn’t back down from a fight.
In retaliation, the leader fires his weapon, causing everyone to take cover. Jalil then makes use of this opportunity to slash the man’s chest, rendering him unconscious and resulting in the surrender of all his members.
Observing the heightened emotions of his people, Jalil swiftly intervenes to remind them that they have already won and they do not have to compete with the wickedness of their foes, as they are different due to the fact that they are merciful for those who are unable to defend themselves.
Once more, Jalil forces the armed men to leave Isla Damai, stressing that the next time they attempt to return, they aren’t going to be compassionate anymore.
