Jalil (Gerald Anderson) slowly walks around the massacred victims’ tombstones, all carefully placed near the shores of Isla Damai. As he recalls the lingering emotional pain from the tragedy, he suddenly falls to the ground.
In his mind, he did not want for any of his people to be hurt or killed but merely wanted their situation to be resolved without resorting to violence. Above all else, Jalil has always believed in a world that’s peaceful, devoid of suffering or killings.
Some time ago, a younger Datu Rahman (Nor Domingo) bravely stood up to armed hostile men, intent on causing harm to their peaceful community. While professing for a peaceful exchange, the Datu, alongside his allies, declared that they would also refrain from being reluctant to protect themselves.
In the present moment, Jalil considers his previous attempt at hindering his people from using the illegal firearms for self-defense to be a mistake. Should he not have done so, many people in the community would have survived.
He then pleads with those who have passed away for forgiveness, promising to Allah that he will not give up until the person accountable for the massacre pays the price.
