Ramli (Alex Medina) finally decides to be truthful to Jalil (Gerald Anderson) about hiding Harold (Elmo Magalona), a member of Task Force Alpha, who luckily survived the tragic shootout that killed most of Isla Damai’s residents.
Everyone from the island follows Ramli and Jalil to meet with the perplexed Harold, seated in front of a warm bonfire. When they saw Harold’s recognizable face, the residents started criticizing Ramli, reasoning that there was no reason for him to be protecting the man known to be among the attackers of their Tausug community.
Jalil then quickly halts their vexations, urging them to listen to Ramli. Right away, Ramli describes how Harold saved his son, who sustained a gunshot wound during the massacre.
Ramli continues by asking for forgiveness but also makes it clear that he has never regretted tending to Harold, as he believes the Task Force Alpha member is a good person for risking his life just to protect Ramli’s son.
Following a brief moment of silence, Jalil reminds everyone that even to their foes, they must show compassion, particularly for those who cannot defend themselves. Their win is not just the sum of slain enemies but also extends to those whom they treated with mercy, including Harold.
Admire more of Jalil’s undying altruism in Find out in “Blood vs Duty,” streaming on iWant and airing weeknights at 8pm on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL).
