Mona (Alma Moreno) notices Stella (Kim Chiu) being affected by her situation with Vincent (Paulo Avelino) in the April 17 episode of “The Alibi.”
Delighted to see the amount of money Vincent had given Stella, Charlie (PJ Endrinal) and Bubbles (Johaira Omar) take notice that the money could help Stella support her siblings’ needs and even allow her to return to school by paying for her tuition. However, worry still lingers on Stella’s face.
“Alam niyo, hindi ko nga alam kung ano yung gagawin ko sa laki ng pera na ‘yan eh,” Stella tells her friends, adding that it could also help her search for her lost sibling, Joy. Charlie asks if she no longer wants to see Vincent, and Stella remains firm in her decision. Meanwhile, Bubbles reminds Stella to at least extend her gratitude to Vincent.
This piece of advice from Bubbles evokes a sense of realization in Stella. Later on, she decides to unblock Vincent’s phone number and tries to call him. Stella feels disappointed when Vincent does not pick up, and Mona, observing her from behind, approaches to talk to her.
Stella explains to Mona that she wishes to thank Vincent for keeping his promise. “Senyales na ‘yan na talagang pinuputol niya ang koneksyon niyong dalawa,” Mona reiterates, convincing Stella that Vincent giving her money is already enough. She reminds Stella of the lengths she still has to go through before leaving her current profession.
Meanwhile, George (Thou Reyes) informs Vincent that he has already given Stella the ten million Vincent asked him to deliver. George conveys that it is also a relief that their deal has finally come to an end, and that he was able to use Stella as his alibi. However, Vincent is not amused and continues to hurl suspicions about Walter’s (Sam Milby) possible connection to Matthew (Rafael Rosell).
