Vincent (Paulo Avelino) lays out his plans for Stella (Kim Chiu) to cover up for him in the March 23 episode of “The Alibi.”
The investigation into Walter’s (Sam Milby) case drives Vincent to raise the stakes, and this time, he seeks Stella’s help. After tracking her down and pulling her away from a supposed client for the night, Vincent brings her to a hotel room. Stella assumes he simply wants to book her services, even going so far as to undress in front of him.
But shock washes over her when Vincent admits he didn’t call her for the usual reasons. “Hindi ‘yan ang kailangan ko,” he says, handing Stella a folder. “Memoryahin mo lahat ng ‘to. Kailangan ko linisin yung pangalan ko. Suspect ako sa isang murder case, kailangan mong sabihin sa mga pulis na magkasama tayo buong gabi. I need you to be my alibi,” he reveals.
Stella is immediately against the idea. “Kung may sabit ka, huwag kang mandadamay ng iba,” she snaps. Vincent assures her he’s not at fault, but Stella’s draws from her past experiences. “Wala akong pakialam, nakulong na ako dati. Alam ko yung galawan ng mga pulis, papaniwalaan lang nila kung ano yung gusto nilang paniwalaan,” she insists with conviction. She refuses to go back to prison, especially if it means abandoning her siblings once more.
Vincent stops her from leaving the hotel room. “Ano bang pinagkaiba nito sa ginagawa mo? Sinasabi mo sa mga customers kung anong gusto nilang marinig, sanay kang magsinungaling,” he argues, though Stella fires back that lying is what helps her provide for her family. Vincent adds, “Besides, hindi ka magsisinungaling. As a matter of fact, magsasabi ka pa nga ng totoo, na kasama mo ako nung gabing yun.”
Stella rethinks her decision further, especially since she could use Vincent’s offer of one million pesos in exchange for her help to cover Joseph’s (Enzo Osorio) medical expenses.
