Aside from the exchange of heartwarming messages between Tanggol (Coco Martin) and his friends during their drinking session, Ramon (Christopher de Leon) also initiated the discussion about what would come next for their group once they completed their mission of delivering the pieces of expensive jewelry they had successfully stolen from a jewelry shop earlier that day.
He suggested for them to lie low, stay away from trouble, and carefully plan their next moves for the meantime, considering that their world is closing in on them, especially now that the truth has come to light and the Guerreros and all their enemies have already heard the news about Tanggol being the rightful winner in the last election.
His friends expressed their agreement to what Ramon had said, while also expressing concern about what might happen once Tanggol assumed office at city hall, particularly since they were still considered fugitives.
As Tanggol went speechless, Ramon chimed in, reminding them that imprisonment was an inevitable consequence of the sins and crimes they had committed—especially his own. His son attempted to object, but Ramon insisted that it was part of Tanggol’s duty as mayor to right wrongs, straighten the crooked, and punish those who dared to defy the law.
“Tanggol, marami akong nagawang mali sa buhay ko at dapat akong parusahan,” Ramon, who seemed to be already drunk, said. He added that owning up to his mistakes and taking accountability for every wrong he had done against the law, the people, and most especially against God were indeed the most important decisions he had ever made in his life.
He then looked up at Tanggol with pride and hope then said, “Ikaw na ang magiging mayor ng Maynila. Ipinagmamalaki kita...Gampanan mo ang tungkulin mo.”
