As soon as the mourners depart from Santino’s (Ron Martin) interment, Rigor (John Estrada) seizes the moment to stand before his son’s uncovered tomb and speak to him. He asks for forgiveness and vows to make Tanggol (Coco Martin) pay for the suffering he has caused their family, swearing to kill anyone who dares stand in his way as he seeks justice for Santino’s death.
He’s apparently overheard by Marites (Cherry Pie Picache), who suddenly appears behind him and tearfully begs him to abandon his deadly quest for revenge. Rigor insists that Tanggol’s life will never be enough to atone for the death of his child, warning her that he will drag Ramon (Christopher de Leon), Tanggol’s friends, and even Marites herself into his vengeance—leaving her totally stunned.
As Marites asks him if losing their son isn’t enough for him to stop his revenge plot, Rigor once again refuses to be blamed for Santino’s untimely demise and instead holds Tanggol responsible for everything that has happened. Marites counters that it’s actually his irrational, intense hatred that has truly destroyed their family and not Tanggol, but Rigor remains unmoved.
Instead, he declares that he will make them all pay for Santino’s death, especially Tanggol, whom he vows to hunt down even in hell’s darkest corners. Marites may have reminded him that it’s really his deep resentment that will be his downfall, yet Rigor stands resolute in his pursuit.
Tindeng (Charo Santos) and Roda (Joel Lamangan) then arrive, with the former gently urging Marites to leave with them.
