Patrick (Joshua Garcia) watches as Elvie (Sharmaine Suarez) breaks down, crying out her regret for not being a better mother and grieving even more over the sudden loss of her daughter.

After his hospital duty, Patrick turns to Jason (Francis Magundayao) for a drink, pouring out his pain and asking if his late mother Tessie (Meryll Soriano) might also have regretted the choices she made. Jason understands what he means—that Tessie left her youngest son with the heavy responsibility of looking after his older brother Matmat (Carlo Aquino), who is on the autism spectrum. Overwhelmed, Jason weeps with him, aching for his friend who has carried so much pain and exhaustion since childhood. Patrick nods when Jason asks him it would ease his burden to believe that Tessie is regretting everything now.

Hearing their conversation, Nanay Li (Rio Locsin) joins them and tries to help Patrick understand his mother’s side. She admits she doesn’t know the full story of Tessie’s life, but she is certain it was never easy. Speaking from experience, she admits that raising even just one child, Gemma (Kaori Oinuma), has already tested her strength as a mother. How much more, she adds, for Tessie who had two children, one of them with a condition. Nanay Li assures him that no mother wishes suffering upon her children, and she urges Patrick to find it in his heart to understand his own mother, no matter how difficult it may be.
