After Patrick (Joshua Garcia) admits to Mia (Anne Curtis) that the reason he can’t leave, despite her insistence that he go away, is because felt how tightly she held onto him after she suffered from a nightmare, Mia finally opens up about what truly haunts her. She confides that she often dreams of her mother and the weight of it leaves her miserable every time she wakes up. But this time feels different, she says, because for once someone has helped her carry the emotions that follow.
Patrick tells her it seems she’ll be stepping out for fresh air more often, seeing how much calmer she looks after their time outside. Mia answers that she would, but only if he’s with her. Patrick gazes at Mia, seeing for the first time how light and at peace her smile appears.
This follows the scene where Mia once again experienced sleep paralysis and a nightmare about her mother. Fortunately, Patrick heard her scream and rushed into her room to calm her down. He sensed she was feverish too, but Mia insisted that medicine wouldn't work on her, so Patrick chose another cure, which was to take her out.
