After meeting with Mia (Anne Curtis) to convince her to sign the consent form for her father Samuel’s (Michael de Mesa) brain surgery, Nurse Gemma (Kaori Oinuma) stops by the ‘pares’ store owned by her friend Jason (Francis Magundayao). There, Jason teases her about the way her eyes light up whenever Patrick (Joshua Garcia) enters their conversations. Wanting to make the most of their time, Jason treats Gemma to his eatery’s specialties as a small farewell gesture before he helps Patrick and Matmat (Carlo Aquino) transfer to yet another new place.

Upon learning that Patrick is once again relocating and starting over with a new job, Gemma follows him to a factory where he currently works, having been recently dismissed from his latest post as a hospital nurse.

Their exchange turns warm and nostalgic as they recall their days working together at Sta. Monica Hospital over three years ago. Patrick remembers shadowing Gemma during rounds and how she used to spend her breaks reading romance novels and patient care books. Gemma smiles, touched by the fact that he still remembers.

Encouraged by the moment, Gemma suggests that Patrick consider moving to back their place in Maravida, hinting at the long history they share. But the mere mention of the name triggers something painful in him. A memory surfaces—one that takes him back to the police station where a young Patrick and Matmat are questioned following their mother’s murder, with Matmat, the sole witness, only able to speak of butterflies.
