Patrick (Joshua Garcia) leaves the Romulo Press Corp. office with pride, having just rejected the hefty bribe Vincent (Enchong Dee) tried to offer in exchange for keeping quiet about what Mia (Anne Curtis) did—stabbing his hand with a knife during a chaos at the hospital where he worked as a nurse.
As Patrick steps out of the building, his thoughts drift back to a memory from his childhood—one where he and Matmat were still little, and their mother Tess (Meryll Soriano) reminded him never to leave his brother behind, telling young Patrick that he would be the one left to care for Matmat if ever the day comes when she’s no longer around.
Despite Patrick’s cold demeanor during their last conversation, something in him catches Mia’s interest. With a look of playful curiosity turning into obsession, Mia tells Madeth (Xyriel Manabat) to run a background check on Patrick, boldly declaring that she wants him for herself.
