After witnessing Matmat (Carlo Aquino) throw a tantrum over a fake autograph of his favorite author Mia (Anne Curtis), Patrick (Joshua Garcia) is prompted to act on the promise he failed to keep—getting a real autograph from the famed children’s book writer.
This came after a chaotic encounter at the hospital where Patrick’s hand got stabbed as he shielded one of his psychiatric patients from Mia's attack. To settle the matter, Patrick agrees to meet with Mia’s manager, Vincent (Enchong Dee), at the Romulo Corp. office. While waiting, he browses through Mia’s books on display, only to be interrupted by the author herself, who throws arrogant assumptions, accusing him of being like everyone else chasing after money or perhaps wanting to spend a night with her. But Patrick isn’t having it. Calm but firm, he tells her that he came because of her, and that her eyes reminds him of someone from his past, someone with a lifeless stare, as if devoid of a soul.
Mia mocks him for getting sentimental over her eyes, assuming they must remind him of someone tied to a happy memory. But Patrick quickly shuts that down, saying those memories were painful, not joyful. His voice trails off into a flashback of his younger getting rejected by a young Mia as he visited her at home.
Soon after, Vincent storms in, stressed and blaming Madeth (Xyriel Manabat) for letting the two meet, worried that Mia might provoke Patrick further and lead him to expose the stabbing incident. But before any deal could be discussed, Patrick flatly tells Vincent that he isn’t interested in anything they have to offer. He's about to leave when Madeth remembers the autograph.
As Patrick makes his way out of the building, Vincent catches up and hands him a gift which he says is just a box of coffee Mia endorses. But Patrick, sensing something off, opens it and discovers
it's packed with cash. With a hint of playful mischief, he pretends he’s going to throw the money over the railing to share it with the crowd below, since Vincent claimed he’s free to share it. Panic flashes across Vincent’s face as he lunges to stop him, nearly slipping over the escalator. Luckily, Patrick holds onto him just in time, unable to resist saving the man who just tried to buy him off.
Vincent is impressed as Patrick is the only person who’s ever rejected a bribe from him.
