While Patrick (Joshua Garcia) and his best friend Jason (Francis Magundayao) talked about the recent appearances of butterflies to Matmat (Carlo Aquino), a flashback showed Patrick bringing his brother to a clinical psychologist who explained that Matmat’s autism makes him more sensitive to stress, putting him at higher risk for post-traumatic stress disorder compared to most people.
The doctor added that Matmat has difficulty expressing his emotions and that this makes it harder for him to process trauma. As the reality sank in, Patrick could only sit in silence with visible sadness on his face while the doctor explained that Matmat needs intensive therapy that would require a significant amount of money.
Later that night, Patrick was seen reading Mia’s newest book "Ang Batang Dinalaw ni Batibat," a story about a boy haunted by a nightmare spirit named Batibat. With Patrick's narration about
fear, sorrow, and hope quietly playing in the background, Mia was shown sitting alone in her room looking at an old photograph of her younger self with her father, while a news report played on TV revealing the death of Alex (Christian Vasquez), the psychiatric patient Patrick had protected during Mia’s attempted stabbing, stating that he was found dead and bloodied inside solitary confinement.
