As if mimicking the voices and nuances of their respective icons were not challenging enough, wait ‘til you see the process that celebrity performers Dia Mate and Pepe Herrera had to go through as they transformed into Adam Levine and Juan Karlos, respectively, for the Week 3 of “Your Face Sounds Familiar”.
Both of them didn’t only have to wear makeup and costumes inspired by their icons, but they also had to put on prosthetics in order to achieve at least a little resemblance with the artists assigned to them.
Dia immediately wowed the jury as soon as she stepped out of the “iconator” because of how good-looking she was in her Adam Levine face and suit. She was also able to achieve the “twang trick” and mini grinds that their resident mentors had taught her during the two mentoring sessions.
And Pepe was able to apply everything they had taught him to his emotion-driven performance of “Ere,” which impressed everyone, especially Juan Karlos’ girlfriend, Dia, who watched him from the couch.
