After mesmerizing us with her ravishing transformations to “Water” hitmaker Tyla for her debut performance as one of the celebrity performers of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” then to “AMAKABOGERA” Maymay Entrata, for the second week Dia Mate expressed her excitement to take on rockstar Adam Levine for this week.
During their mentoring session, vocal mentor Klarisse de Guzman taught the reigning Reina Hispano-americana 2025 the “twank trick,” which she might find useful in her performance of Maroon 5’s “Sugar.” Dia related, “Feeling ko hindi ‘yong notes ang difficulty sa song na ‘to, [but] ‘yong tono talaga ni Adam Levine kasi nandito sa likod. Kailangan bukaka ‘yong mouth mo at super [exaggerated] ‘yong tone kasi very distinct ‘yong boses niya.”
Meanwhile, movement mentor Nyoy Volante reminded Dia that in order to nail her portrayal of Adam, she needed to master his “quality of being pa-sexy," which includes his mini grinds, since it’s his foundation as a performer.
As the jury were asked for their comments on her performance, Klarisse commended her for following her advice to do the “twang trick,” while Ogie told her that this particular act is probably her best so far. Nyoy Volante remarked that he couldn’t find any mark of Dia in her transformation—which is a good thing for this competition—while Sharon Cuneta said that she has kept getting better as the weeks went by.
