Just when everyone was already thrilled that it was Juan Karlos who was assigned to be the next icon of his fellow celebrity performer Dia Mate, Pepe Herrera didn’t let that happen as he pressed the “steal” button—much to the shock of everybody—and made her boyfriend his icon for Week 3 of “Your Face Sounds Familiar.”
And Pepe was able to apply everything mentors Klarisse de Guzman and Nyoy Volante had taught him during his emotion-driven performance of “Ere,” which impressed everyone, especially Juan Karlos’ girlfriend, Dia, who watched him from the couch. Thus, hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario asked for her comment and for Pepe to teach them how “face melting” is being done, with one of the members of the live audience gamely accepting the challenge as well.
While the jury were giving their respective judgments on his performance, Juan Karlos himself suddenly arrived at the studio—much to everyone’s surprise and delight. The real Juan Karlos jestingly remarked, “Bakit ganyan itsura mo, ‘tol?” and added, “’Tol, hindi ako ‘yan!” upon seeing how Pepe looked like. He was also shocked to see Dia in her Adam Levine suit yet still gave her a hug and told her that he really swung by for her.
The judges expressed their appreciation for the tremendous effort that Pepe had poured into this performance.
