MANILA (UPDATED) — Nxled finally returned to its winning ways.

This, as the Chameleons overcame a slow start start to beat Zus Coffee, 20-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-19, in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.

"The four-straight loss, it wasn't happy times. But we're able to stick together. And I'm really proud of all the girls," said skipper Brooke Van Sickle during the postgame press conference.

The three-time PVL MVP acknowledged the importance of this game as they enter a crucial stretch in the preliminaries, keeping their bid for a Top 4 finish or a qualifying round spot.

The revamped Nxled squad looked promising after a 3-0 start, but could not sustain it and even dropped four games in a row.

"I think it was good that we broke the losing streak... I think, again, [we're having] steps in the right direction, building confidence as a team," she said.

After a 7-2 early run by Zus Coffee in the pivotal frame that knotted things up at 8-apiece, Jonah Sabete-Escamillan found the hit that immediately broke the deadlock.

It was Nxled from then onwards, as the Chameleons unleashed a 7-1 run to create the separation they needed at 15-9, and to eventually close out the affair in four sets.

Van Sickle, as expected of her, had a triple-double of 20 points, 10 excellent digs, and 12 excellent receptions, while Sabete-Escamillan was there to supplement with 19 markers dealt on 16 kills to go with eight excellent receptions.

Orchestrating the offense was Jules Tolentino, who registered 17 excellent sets, while Bang Pineda contributed to the Nxled defense with 20 excellent digs.

Meanwhile, PVL sophomore Thea Gagate had 16 points and six blocks to lead the losing effort, as the Thunderbelles dropped to a 1-7 win-loss card.
