MANILA — From a 0-3 start, Akari now sees a complete turnaround of its 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference campaign.
The Chargers have won four matches in a row, and have earned a solo fourth-place in the rankings with a 4-3 card.
Aside from getting a better position in their bid for a qualifying round spot, they now have a morale-boosting win after taking down 10-time league champion Creamline, 25-21, 26-24, 17-25, 25-21, on Thursday at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.
"We can see the light. 'yun lang ang gusto kong sabihin. We can see the light — Akari Chargers," said coach Tina Salak.

For Salak, it's their hunger that fuels their charge, making them want more.
"Gusto ko 'yung hunger nila e. So, kahit wala munang makitang identity ngayon, at least nakikita natin 'yung composure ng bawat isa. 'Yung hunger kasi hindi nasa-satisfy, walang satisfaction," said Salak.
They are keeping the "Akari identity," said Salak, but she wants her wards to level up their game further as they continue their unbeaten run which now extended to four.
"I think yung identity will remain the Akari pa rin. Gusto ko lang din na magkaroon sila ng mas mataas pa na standard na level ng play as individual and of course as a team. Meron pa kaming remaining games — 'yun 'yung pinakamini-meet namin ngayon, na matapos 'yung remaining games namin with wins."
