MANILA – The Alas Pilipinas Men's and Women's national volleyball teams are ramping up their preparations for upcoming international tournaments.
According to separate posts on the Alas Pilipinas Volley official social media accounts, both teams are hard at work ahead of another tour of duty for the Philippines.
The Alas Men's team is off to Europe to begin its training camps overseas, as part of its preparations for the country's hosting of the FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship next month.
Last September 2024, Alas Men's had a two-week training camp in Italy.
The Philippines will be hosting the tournament scheduled to run from September 12 to 28.
Alas will be facing Iran, Egypt and Tunisia in Pool A of the tournament.
As for Alas Women, the squad is back on the taraflex to train for the second leg of the 5th SEA Women's V.League.

The team captured bronze in the first leg of the tournament last Sunday, after defeating Indonesia in four sets.
The Alas Women returned to training on Wednesday to prepare for the second leg, where they will once again face gold medalists Thailand, host nation Vietnam and Indonesia.
The Philippines hopes to clinch the elusive gold and silver during the second leg of the SEA V.League, which will run from August 8 to 10 in Vietnam.
