Alas Pilipinas Women are not going home empty from the 2025 SEA Women's V.League.

This, as the national team dumped Indonesia in four sets, 25-20, 25-20, 16-25, 25-13, to clinch the bronze medal in the four-nation tournament on Sunday in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

It was a triumphant final day for Alas, which did not win in the first two days, absorbing defeats against the host nation and Vietnam.

Looking back, they showed grit against the regional powerhouses, taking one set each against our Southeast Asian neighbors.

Gold or even silver finishes in the SEA V.League remained elusive for the Philippines, with the title only taken by Thailand since 2019, while Vietnam and Indonesia battled for the runners-up results.

Still, the third-place medal is a welcome development — the country's third straight bronze in this contest — won at the expense of Indonesia's podium aspirations.

The Nationals, after cruising to a 2-0 lead, stumbled in the third frame as the Indonesians came alive in that period, snatching one set.

But the Jia de Guzman-captained roared back to life in the fourth, breezing to a 15-4 start to dictate the rest of Set 4.
