Out of frustration and losing hope that Gabo (Coco Martin) would fulfill his promise to help raise money for the mounting hospital bills of her beloved partner, Rudy (Joey Marquez), who remains unconscious and fighting for his life, Betchay (Irma Adlawan) decides to resort to desperate measures.
Although the Manila Telebalita news team, who interviewed her and Mameng (Ces Quesada), has given them ₱4,000 in financial assistance, it’s still far from enough to cover their expenses. Betchay suddenly breaks down in tears and tells her sister-in-law that she cannot bear to lose the only man she has ever loved.
Mameng tries to comfort her by assuring her that nothing bad will happen to Rudy and that Gabo will keep his pledge. But Betchay rejects it, insisting that she no longer has faith that her stepson can really help them.
As she laments why she always has to be the one to find a way out of their problems, Betchay resolves to take matters into her own hands. When Mameng asks what she plans to do, Betchay conveys that she’s willing to do anything to save Rudy—even if it means returning to sex work, a job she is later revealed to have had in the past.
