On the day when Datu Rahman publicly disclosed the truth about General Manuel Carillo (Bodjie Pascua) and Colonel Napoleon (Ryan Eigenmann) during the live broadcast of journalist Maya Mae Kalaw’s (Tootsy Angara) program, Felix (Baron Geisler) sneaked in and assassinated the Datu.
In shock, Jalil and Jamilah (Barbie Imperial) rushed toward their dying father, screaming his name. This resulted in the revelation of Jalil’s false identity as Police Major Allan Espina and General Carillo deceiving the public into believing that the Abubakars are the ones guilty for the recent atrocities.
Given little time to grieve the passing of his father, Jalil was swiftly taken into custody by the hesitant Marcus and Usman (Ejay Falcon). Aware of Jalil’s innocence, Marcus promised to resolve everything and cleanse the Abubakars’ reputation.
Later on, with the murder of Jalil planned by General Carillo’s accomplices, Usman did not hold back and helped Jalil escape even though it meant losing his police badge.
Jalil’s real identity as Gabriel is ultimately revealed
There were already plenty of clues pointing to the real brotherhood between Jalil and Marcus, yet the revelation was still considered highly emotional, especially since it was told by the kind-hearted Jamilah.
Following Datu Rahman’s death, Jamilah waited for Teresa (Susan Africa) at S. Trinidad Hospital. There, she tearfully explained Jalil’s true identity as Gabriel, Teresa’s youngest son, and Marcus’ only brother, who was rescued by Datu Rahman (also known as Hassan Wadi) amid the explosion of M/V Doña Emilia.
Recognizing the threats coming from General Carillo’s co-conspirators and not wanting his family to get dragged into his predicament, Jalil first kept his location hidden. Moments later, Jamilah, Marcus, and Ethan (Binsoy Namoca) joined forces to track Jalil, guiding Marcus to one of Ahmad’s (Robin Padilla) safe houses.
The brothers reunited once again after battling their enemies and then escaped to a safer area to prepare for their next movements. They eventually meet up with Teresa at Barangay Surga following General Carillo’s arrest.
Task Force Alpha stands by Marcus and Jalil’s pursuit of justice
Having proven themselves to be Marcus and Jalil’s trusted allies, Task Force Alpha, under the leadership of Director Emil Azuelo (Rommel Padilla), devoted themselves to protecting their members and investigating suspicious activities inside the NLEA.
Together, they confronted the traitor Felix, stopped Montes (Gerald Madrid) from harming Usman, and remained prepared to cooperate with Marcus and Jalil even when their team was dissolved by General Villanueva (Arnel Carrion). Furthermore, Harold (Elmo Magalona) rejoined the group, which shocked Felix.
Upon the arrest of General Carillo, Task Force Alpha continued to be skeptical and vigilant. The suspicions they had were confirmed when Usman and Axl (Marc Abaya) reported to them about Jamilah’s and Teresa’s abduction. Right away, the team headed for Malacañang Palace, which was currently being attacked.
Journalist Maya Mae Kalaw exposes the corrupt system despite threats
One of the most powerful moments in the finale would undoubtedly be Maya Mae Kalaw exposing General Carillo’s wicked schemes. This took place when Marcus and Jalil sought out more proof after losing Ahmad’s documents in the middle of the shootout before they managed to flee.
Maya’s cameraman, Edrick (Zeppi Borromeo), made his way to Barangay Surga, seeking to speak to Marcus and Jalil with the help of Jamilah. Edrick then pleaded for help to protect Maya, who insisted on their duty to publicly release the evidence.
Prior to his death, Datu Rahman handed Maya an envelope that contained waybills, shipping documents, a list of lost firearms, and more. General Guerzon (Levi Ignacio) secretly compiled all these in hopes of stopping General Carilo.
From the moment the live broadcast started, gunmen entered the premises, intending to silence Maya. In spite of the violence around her, she kept going until she ultimately declared General Carillo’s corrupt character.
General Carillo’s seemingly unending schemes for destabilization
By commanding his cronies to execute Jalil and labeling the Abubakars along with Marcus the enemies of the state, General Carillo’s inhumanity knows no limits. Even after he ended up incarcerated, his crimes continued with the help of NLEA’s corrupt generals. This meant extending the 37 provinces they controlled, the declaration of martial law, more false narratives, and a military junta.
On the day that President Nathalia (Agot Isidro) spoke to General Villanueva about the security protocols for the emergency meeting to be held with her succession of powers, this actually signified that General Carillo’s strategy was in place.
Marcus and Jalil successfully led the final battle against iron-handed General Carillo, with Task Force Alpha assisting them and Andre (River Joseph) defusing the bomb strapped to Nathalia. The last threat was Felix, who kidnapped Jamilah and Teresa so he could lure and eliminate Marcus and Jalil for good.
Felix captures Jamilah and Teresa for a cruel fallback plan
Inside the West Tower of the Tayum Building, Felix eagerly awaited Jalil and Marcus’ arrival. Felix wasn’t entirely alone given that his henchmen overpowered the duo. He then proceeded to play a wicked game of Russian roulette between his captives Teresa, Jamilah, Marcus, and Jalil.
Fortunately, Usman, Harold, Axl, Ethan, and Buster (Ace Carrera), showed up right on time to save everyone. At the very end, Jalil was able to tackle Felix until he fell to his death, and Marcus did well in pulling Jalil to safety.
President Nathalia delivers a momentous speech to the public
General Carillo, along with his co-conspirators, was finally apprehended, and President Nathalia bestowed medals of valor to Marcus, Jalil, and Task Force Alpha for protecting the country and its people from total collapse. Everyone’s peaceful lives were also reclaimed, particularly with Jalil and Jamilah returning to Isla Damai and Teresa and Marcus preparing for Jalil’s occasional visits.
President Nathalia’s speech was exceptionally powerful and unforgettable, as it urged citizens to think critically before taking anything at face value and to look past our differences.
