In the earliest episodes of “Blood vs Duty,” Jalil spent three months away from Isla Damai to train the newly recruited members of CDSU. While teaching them self-defense skills and military tactics, especially when faced with inhumane enemies, Jalil places importance on only engaging in combat when necessary and opting for peaceful talks.
Jalil leaves Barangay Surga to protect the residents
At the time when Jalil was trying to find his adoptive father, Datu Rahman (Jaime Fabregas), who had been abducted numerous times as per the plans of General Carillo (Bodjie Pascua) and Lara (Bela Padilla), he had been fatally shot at Dapayan Warehouse and was recovering in Barangay Surga.
Felix (Baron Geisler), the accomplice of Lara and General Carillo, attempted to infiltrate Barangay Surga in pursuit of Jalil. Reflecting on the tragic event at Isla Damai, which claimed the lives of many innocent people, Jalil understood that his presence would only heighten the dangers. He ultimately made the selfless decision to leave, even with his sister Jamilah’s (Barbie Imperial) refusal.
Marcus and Jalil thank one another after rescuing Jamilah and Teresa
Soon after meeting the Presidential Chief of Staff Ahmad Mustapha (Robin Padilla), Jalil was given the opportunity to assume the fabricated identity of Major Allan Espina, which would enable him to dig into the truth behind the Isla Damai massacre and eventually deliver justice to the slain citizens of his Tausug community.
While completing one of his missions with Task Force Alpha at S. Trinidad Hospital, where they needed to rescue Jamilah and Teresa (Susan Africa) from being taken hostage by Metal 13’s leaders Axl (Marc Abaya) and Jovi (Joem Bascon), Jalil made every effort to keep his fears under control regarding his sister’s safety.
Even though Marcus and Jalil (as Major Allan) clashed several times before reaching this point, they finally chose to show their appreciation for each other, with Marcus acknowledging the fact that Jalil helped save his mother, Teresa.
Jalil prays for justice to prevail
Despite the hardships he is experiencing, Jalil devotes time to praying, expressing gratitude to Allah for Jamilah’s safety. Shortly after reaching a safe distance away from the danger zone, Datu Rahman questioned Jalil about his role as Major Allan, and he responded by stating that it was crucial for him to become part of NLEA to track down the Datu and figure out the truth of the Isla Damai massacre.
In spite of Datu Rahman’s pleas for them to travel far away to protect themselves, Jalil made it clear that they will go back to their normal lives on the island and that he will cleanse the Datu’s reputation. For Jalil, the island as well as its residents should be safeguarded in all circumstances, especially as that was the place he formed his sense of self and found his family.
Jalil entrusts Datu Rahman’s safety to Jamilah, Omar, and Norhana
