Even though he and his family were desperate for money to cover the surgery of his father, Rudy (Joey Marquez), Gabo (Coco Martin) refused to let their predicament compromise his values and instead chose to uphold his principles.
As they witnessed Gabo bring the two attaché cases of Mr. Chan (Mike Castillo) that contained gold straight to their home in Ginintuang Lupa, which he got during his encounter with him as he fulfilled the second mission entrusted to him by their leader, Paps (Joonee Gamboa), Uwak (Lao Rodriguez) and Lawin (Jojit Lorenzo) had already adjudged him as dishonest and unreliable.
Thus, they were caught off guard when Gabo suddenly arrived at their hideout to surrender the two attaché cases. Tomas (Levi Ignacio) and Omeng (Dindo Arroyo) immediately helped Paps check the gold bars and they were pleased to find them complete and very much intact inside.
Paps ordered Omeng to get the briefcase containing the P100,000 that he would give to Gabo as a reward for his success and added some extra amount as a token of gratitude for his honesty, much to Gabo's surprise and delight.
Upon Gabo's departure, Tomas taunted Uwak and Lawin for thinking ill of Gabo. Omeng chimed in, telling them that if there is anyone among them who knows Gabo best, it would most likely be him, Tomas, and Paps, having spent many years with him in prison.
Not wanting to admit that they had been mistaken, Uwak derisively said that it was just a fluke, and, in time, his true colors will eventually be revealed. Meanwhile, Lawin stated that whether Gabo dies on a mission or not, he will certainly find a way to escape and betray the group, just like what the ones who came before him did. However, Paps opposed what both of them just said.
