As Sam (Julia Montes) learns from Director Fernando Delgado (Soliman Cruz) that Pia (Katherine Luna), who seems to be one of the most dreaded higher-ups in the National Crime Investigation Agency (NCIA) will be sitting in on her team’s upcoming case briefing, she apparently can’t help but become anxious.
Her colleague and suitor, Sebastian (JC De Vera), notices her frantically sorting through her files and asks what is bothering her. However, Sam brushes off his concern and instead turns her attention to Karen (Via Antonio), as she asks her about the status of their report. Upon learning that it is still incomplete because the rest of the team has yet to return from the field, Sam loses her composure and raises her voice at Karen.
When the other agents finally arrive at the office, they immediately relay everything they have uncovered during their investigation. Although the team's findings are far from ideal, Sam instructs them to prepare a printed copy of the report for the briefing.
Puzzled by her unusual behavior, her teammates ask why she seems so tense. Sam then reveals that someone will be observing their presentation—and that person is none other than Pia. Moments later, Pia herself arrives, immediately belittling Sam and putting even more pressure on her ahead of the briefing.
During a private conversation with Dir. Delgado inside his office, it has been revealed that Pia despises Sam while strongly rooting for Sebastian. But Delgado defends Sam, whom Pia tags as his “favorite agent,” saying that he highly believes that his promising subordinate can surely do it because her meticulousness and intelligence make her more than capable of handling the case. He reminds Pia, as well, that there is no reason to compare his agents because each of them is competent in their own way, which Pia clearly refuses to accept.
