LelQuin fans probably had one of the sweetest viewing experiences last weekend as Lella Ford and Joaquin Arce brought their charm to "Everybody, Sing!" where they joined the 'kantahan' and 'kulitan' with the 'songbayanang' choir members.
And if you’re still not over their guesting and need a little more LelQuin content in your life, you better not pout because the fun continued right after the episode as the "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" alums took on a challenge from ABS-CBN Studios where they once again tested their music knowledge by completing the missing lyrics from randomly selected songs.
So here comes another round of LelQuin in ‘lyrics genius’ mode!
Joaquin was off to a good start as he correctly supplied the missing word in "susungkitin mga *blank*" from Erik Santos’ "Kung Akin Ang Mundo." Apparently, he had a pretty thoughtful strategy in mind while figuring out the answer. He just imagined what a person in love would still try to reach no matter how difficult it may seem.
He then kept the same game plan of decoding the song's message first, which helped him arrive at the right idea for the line "pilit _________ ang sarado ko nang puso" from Ogie Alcasid's "Nandito Ako," as he analyzed that the missing word should be related to opening a “closed” heart, although he missed the correct tense after answering “buksan” instead of “binubuksan.”
Looks like Joaquin’s eidetic memory really saved the day when he picked SB19's "Mapa," which he used to listen to casually without really intentionally memorizing the lines We bet that look of surprise on his face when he got the correct answer is the realest thing you'll see today.
And for a moment there, it felt like Joaquin was giving us a ‘kilig’ serenade as he sang a short snippet of “Hinahanap Hanap Kita” to fill in the blank—and yes, he got it right. Interestingly, he appeared to be more familiar with throwback songs since he easily recognized the Rivermaya hit while admitting he was unfamiliar with Maki’s Gen Z favorite, “Dilaw.”
Let's try his luck with a novelty bop next! Joaquin once again relied on smart analysis while trying to guess the missing word from Vice Ganda’s “Karakaraka.” For the line, “Pagpag mo ang katawan, ikembot mo ang bewang. _____________ ang kamay, sabay-sabay,” he thought “ikaway” would fit the sequence—which, to be fair, was pretty close since the correct answer was “wagayway.”
And then he was super hyped for his final jam with Juan Karlos’ “Buwan.” Interestingly, he was still able to correctly identify the absent lyric despite the song’s use of older and deeply poetic Tagalog words.
On Lella’s turn, consider yourselves lucky as she gave a little sample, singing the chorus part of Parokya Ni Edgar’s “Harana." She managed to keep the momentum going by correctly filling in the blank.
For the next song, “Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin” by Kitchie Nadal, she may not have gotten the correct answer, but Lella still won us over with her super cute shy smile at the end. She also tried her guessing powers again for “Kapag Ako Ay Nagmahal” by Jolina Magdangal, although it did not work out this time either.
And then we loved watching her vibin' to Yeng Constantino’s “Chinito,” as the tune guided her to a guess for the missing word in “dahil __________ mo ang aking paningin.” She answered “nakuha,” which made sense and was pretty close to the correct word, “nabihag.” So, nice try, Lella!
Now we think Lella has OPM bands on repeat as, after getting a point from a Parokya Ni Edgar hit earlier, she also correctly identified the empty spot in Kamikazee’s “Narda.”
Help, this was too cute! As she sang a part of the chorus of Sarah Geronimo’s “Tala,” Lella could not help but sway and dance along, and expectedly, she got this round right since, well, it is safe to say the entire nation once got addicted to the song.
That was fun and so adorable! If LelQuin is a soundtrack, we’re all probably stuck in LSS right now.
