Stella (Kim Chiu) admits Vincent (Paulo Avelino) isn't hard to love in the April 27 episode of “The Alibi.”
Vincent gets heavily drunk during a drinking session with Stella’s neighbors. Stella, Aling Sonya (Lotlot Bustamante), Charlie (PJ Endrinal), and Bubbles (Johaira Omar) take care of him, and later leave Vincent alone with Stella, who continues to look after him. Stella notices that Vincent is genuinely enjoying himself.
“‘Di ko na nga maalala kung kailan ako naging ganito kasaya. Yung tumatawa ako nang ganito,” Vincent tells Stella he wants to live the simple life she has, wanting to experience how they continue to find joy despite life’s challenges. “Ramdam mo yung pagmamahal nila.”
Vincent goes on to compare Stella’s way of living to his own, reflecting on how his family has treated him these past few weeks. “Di ko nga alam bakit ko sila tinatawag na pamilya eh, ampon lang naman ako. Sarili kong asawa, pinagpalit ako sa iba.” He also feels that even his biological family would probably try to get rid of him.
Stella comforts Vincent while cleaning him up, saddened by what she hears. “Mabuti kang tao. Ramdam ko ‘yon. Higit sa lahat, hindi ka mahirap mahalin,” she tells him directly, and Vincent listens intently to her words.
