Katherine Morales feels like the younger version of her sister Stella (Kim Chiu). She is determined to get what she desires and would do anything for the sake of her family, no matter how tough life gets. Her passion and willingness to learn are definitely what make her one of the standout characters.

1. Katherine clashes with Stella over her profession
Katherine comes home the next day, and Stella calls her out for her behavior, demanding to know where she has been. Katherine says she went out to buy something, but Stella doesn’t believe her and yells at her. In annoyance, Katherine throws her things away, which only makes Stella even angrier.
“Ang strikto mo naman kasi, Ate!” Katherine cries, but Stella says she is strict because she doesn’t want them to end up like her. Katherine retorts that no one would even want to turn out like Stella, but Stella reminds her that being an escort helps support them financially. Stella says that whatever others may say should not completely affect her.
2. Katherine applies for a job to help Stella
To help with their family’s financial expenses, Katherine tries to support Stella by quietly seeking job opportunities—something Stella strongly opposes, as she wants Katherine to focus solely on her studies. While waiting for her interview, their neighbor Sonya (Lotlot Bustamante) confronts her about it.
“’Di ba sabi ng ate mo, mag-aral ka?” the older woman tells Katherine. She replies, “Nag-aaral naman po ako, pero kailangan din ni ate ng tulong. Masyado nang maraming gastusin—hindi niya kaya.”
3. Katherine worries about her siblings
As Joseph’s condition worsens, Stella and Katherine grow increasingly worried, especially since they need half a million pesos for his medical bills and operation. Stella’s friends, Bubbles (Johaira Omar) and Charlie (PJ Endrinal), assure her that they will try to raise funds for Joseph. Overwhelmed, Stella becomes emotional, and Katherine joins her.
“Ate, natatakot ako. Paano kung mangyari ulit ‘yung nangyari noon? Ayokong mawalan ng kapatid ulit,” Katherine says, recalling the time they lost Stella when she was imprisoned.
4. Katherine defends Stella from malicious rumors
Stella is bombarded by questions from the media about her real connection with Vincent (Paulo Avelino), and she has no choice but to admit that they are in a relationship. The news spreads nationally, forcing Katherine to defend her sister from neighbors gossiping about her.
“Kayo, huwag n’yong gawing pulutan lagi ang ate ko. Wala kayong magawa sa buhay n’yo kundi puro chismisan,” Katherine declares to the other girls.
5. Katherine feels ashamed of Stella's line of work
After her clash with some of the neighbors, Stella arrives home and finds Katherine in a messy state. She asks her what happened.
“Napaaway lang, kakatanggol sa’yo,” Katherine responds, and Stella advises her not to do it again.
“Hindi ka ba napapagod sa kahihiyan? Pilit naming tinatanggap ’yang trabaho mo kasi kailangan. Pero pati naman ‘yung pagiging kabit?” Katherine sobs.
She adds that even though it is Stella who is all over social media, their family also suffers from the consequences of her actions. Stella, struggling to hold back her emotions, tries to make Katherine understand her hardships.
6. Katherine questions Stella's choices
After Stella accepts Vincent’s offer to be his alibi, she finally gets the funds to pay for Joseph’s medical operation. Katherine asks Stella if she got the money from Vincent. Stella believes it is more important that Joseph’s condition will soon improve.
“Kaya ikaw, Katherine, makinig ka sa’kin. Ayusin mo ’yang buhay mo. Ayusin mo ’yung pag-aaral mo—dapat nakapagtapos ka,” Stella tells Katherine, adding that no one would dare disrespect her if she lives an honest and decent life.
7. Katherine pleads with Vincent
While Vincent waits for Stella, Katherine approaches him, knowing that he is Stella’s supposed boyfriend. Katherine introduces herself as Stella’s sister, and Vincent asks about Stella’s well-being.
“Nasabi niya ba sa’yo na nakulong siya? Napagkamalan siyang adik at tulak kahit hindi totoo—nagkawatak-watak kami,” she explains to Vincent, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Kung mapapa-trouble lang si ate sa’yo, nakikiusap ako, pakawalan mo na siya. Kasi alam ko kung paano magmahal si Ate. Ibibigay niya lahat.”
Katherine adds that Stella has already gone through many challenges, pleading with Vincent not to push through with whatever plans he has for her sister.
8. Katherine and Edward's first encounter
While Katherine continues with her studies and spends time around campus, Edward (Robbie Jaworski) cannot help but stare at her as she exercises. Katherine and Edward briefly lock eyes, but Katherine’s attention is diverted when one of her friends calls her and urges her to come. Before leaving, Katherine glances back at Edward and smiles at him.
Still determined to help Stella earn money, Katherine continues to look for possible work to earn extra income. She eventually receives a text message informing her that she has been shortlisted for an interview, which she happily shares with Joseph. However, Joseph becomes worried, recalling what Stella told them—to prioritize their studies. As Katherine rushes to her schedule, she struggles to find a place with a comfort room as the pressure starts to get to her. The nearest restaurant refuses to accommodate her, and the security guard almost escorts her out of the premises. However, Edward steps in and saves her from the situation.

Later on, Katherine expresses her gratitude toward Edward, who even teases her about calling him by an endearment, since they had pretended to be a couple earlier so the restaurant staff would accommodate them. Edward introduces himself and asks for Katherine’s name, but she lies and says she is Sonya, even giving him Aling Sonya’s number just so he would stop.
