Jacqueline (Zsa Zsa Padilla) tells Stella (Kim Chiu) to choose her battles wisely in the April 14 episode of “The Alibi.”
Claudia (Sofia Andres) attempts to talk to Vincent (Paulo Avelino) and informs him that she has fixed all the meetings he must attend to meet with possible investors as it was something Vincent had been working on the entire night of the party. Claudia tries to entice Vincent, even suggesting they share a room in an attempt to fix their relationship.
“Claudia, thank you for arranging things with the investors, pero hindi mo naman kailangan gawin,” Vincent responds, and Claudia starts to feel disappointed with his demeanor. “Pinipili mo yung babae na ’yon? Are you that stupid?” Claudia pins the blame on his relationship with Stella, but Vincent is firm in his decision to end things with Claudia. “Mas pipiliin ko pa yung buhay na ’yon kaysa yung buhay na kasama ka.”
Meanwhile, things start to get overwhelming for Stella, who panics after accidentally knocking down one of the party’s visitors. She cries out her tension in the ladies’ room but immediately tries to calm herself when Jacqueline walks in, shocked to still see her presence at the ball. “Bakit ka ba talaga nagpunta rito? Lahat kami nagulat, including Vincent.” Stella turns to face Jacqueline, “Bago pa ako pumasok sa buhay niyo, magulo na ang pamilya niyo.”
Jacqueline laughs at Stella’s statement, conveying that while their family is far from perfect, someone like Stella seems to further damage their reputation. “Minsan, kailangan mong mamili ng laban—kung paano at kailan. Pero hindi lahat ipinaglalaban; minsan mas makakabuting manahimik na lang.” Jacqueline adds that Stella should just let things happen, for her own protection and for the sake of the people important to her.
