Vincent (Paulo Avelino) refuses to follow what Claudia (Sofia Andres) wants in the March 31 episode of “The Alibi.”
In a rush to leave his office, Vincent is stopped by Claudia, who suddenly arrives to ask if they can talk. Claudia convinces Vincent not to let her drug addiction be revealed to the public, saying, “Sa totoo lang, gusto ko nang magbago.” However, Vincent remains unmoved, pointing out that Claudia had already made promises to change her behavior in the past, but nothing ever happened.
Claudia reasons that Walter (Sam Milby) manipulated her into consuming drugs, knowing her weaknesses. Vincent counters that while she may have been manipulated, Claudia is allowing herself to be. “Vincent, please. Please forgive me,” Claudia cries. “Hindi naman ako magiging addict kung hindi mo ako hinayaan.” She explains that her obsession began because she wanted to forget her problems, and Walter was there to comfort her.
A flashback shows that during the time Claudia was struggling—with the added pressure of their newborn child and Vincent’s heavy commitment to work, leaving him with no time for his family—Walter suddenly arrives and shows a stash of pills. When he tries to give her some, this leads to them sharing a kiss, taking advantage of Vincent’s absence at the time.
After recalling these events, Claudia continues to plead with Vincent. “I realized na hindi ko kayang wala ka. Hindi ko kayang mag-isa,” she sobs, expressing how hurt she feels every time she sees him with Stella (Kim Chiu). She convinces him that if he removes Stella from the picture, she will be willing to start over with him. However, Vincent refuses to follow her wishes. “Mahirap simulan ang matagal nang tapos.” He presses further, asking, “Kung gusto mo talagang magbago, sino talagang pumatay kay Walter?”
Vincent grows suspicious of Claudia’s claim that she does not know who killed Walter, since they were having an affair at the time. While Claudia reiterates that it was not a romantic relationship, Vincent proposes that they get an annulment, as she had long wanted to end things with him. This time, however, Claudia refuses. “Don't push me, dahil hindi mo alam kung anong pwede kong gawin,” Vincent warns and shows Claudia footage from one of the nights he spent with Walter.
“Sa bahay pa talaga natin,” Vincent says in disgust, urging Claudia to give him what he wants so they can finally end their marriage and find peace. Vincent then leaves, while Claudia screams out of frustration.
