Stella (Kim Chiu) offers Vincent (Paulo Avelino) advice in the March 25 episode of “The Alibi.”
Vincent stops Jacqueline (Zsa Zsa Padilla) from confronting Stella, who asks him if the two are indeed in a relationship. “All this time, I’ve been trying to defend you sa dad mo.” She cannot believe what she’s seeing, adding that their family’s protection should come first. Jacqueline walks out, with Vincent following her.
“What are you trying to accomplish, Mom?” Vincent asks. Jacqueline admits that she just wants to know the truth, especially about Stella, and how Vincent could possibly betray his family. “Vincent, sa maniwala ka sa hindi, I’m on your side. Pero paano kita ipagtatanggol kung ako mismo bulag sa mga nangyayari?” Vincent insists that he can protect himself without her help.
Later that night, Jacqueline goes home to find Arthur (John Arcilla) waiting for her. When he asks where she had been, Jacqueline admits that she went to see Stella. “Pati yung si Vincent, pinagtanggol sya.” She is still in disbelief over Vincent’s behavior. “I thought those days are over, yung pagrerebelde nya.” She recalls how Vincent was even sent abroad to tame him. “I told you, your son is hopeless.” Jacqueline reiterates that they should not let Vincent handle everything alone, but Arthur can only reply, “Mahirap tulungan ang taong hindi nakikinig,” seeing the situation as a wake-up call for himself.
Meanwhile, Vincent gives Stella the one million pesos he promised in exchange for her help. Stella thanks him, saying she will use the money for something important. “Quitz na? Pwede na tayong hindi magkita, ah,” she asks, adding why it must be so hard for Vincent to reveal their deal. “Hindi nila pwedeng malaman yung tungkol sa arrangement natin,” he replies, seeing the situation as an advantage for his family to easily get rid of him.
Stella grows confused, but Vincent insists it should remain a secret between them, as people could forget about it immediately. “Hindi ba yun ang problema? Ang daling makalimot ng mga tao. Kaya ang daling takpan ang lahat ng kasinungalingan,” she says, looking straight at him.
