Stella (Kim Chiu) defends her “relationship” with Vincent (Paulo Avelino) to Jacqueline (Zsa Zsa Padilla) in the March 24 episode of “The Alibi.”
Following the spread of Stella’s accidental interview with the press and her sudden confession about her romantic relationship with Vincent, Jacqueline is baffled. Matthew (Rafael Rosell) asks her about their supposed mother-son date, but Jacqueline takes a rain check, which Matthew immediately assumes is because of Vincent.
“Wag niyo siguro siya masyadong pilitin makipag-usap,” Matthew says, to which Jacqueline reasons that her worries come from being a mother. She even asks Matthew if he knew about Vincent and Stella, to which Matthew just shrugs and reminds her of their relationship as brothers, which is far from perfect. “Ayoko na may mapapahamak ni isa sa inyo,” Jacqueline tells him.
As the investigation into Walter’s death continues, more revelations are bound to unfold. Stella talks to Bubbles (Johaira Omar) and Charlie (PJ Endrinal) about her deal with Vincent in exchange for money. “Ang importante, may pera,” Stella says, as she is doing everything for her family. Their conversation is cut short when Mona (Alma Moreno) calls out to Stella, informing her that a customer is waiting.
It turns out Jacqueline visits Stella at the bar to talk with her. Jacqueline introduces herself as Vincent’s mother, “Marami tayong dapat pag-usapan. Gusto kong malaman ang totoo.” She looks at Stella from head to toe and asks if she is Vincent’s girlfriend—or rather, a mistress. Stella remains composed despite the tension.
“Oo, madam. Kerida, side chick, kulasisi, escabeche—all of the above,” Stella responds, which Jacqueline finds amusing, as Stella seems proud of having an affair with her son. She asks how the two got to know each other. “Hindi pumapasok si Vincent sa ganitong klaseng lugar.” Stella reiterates that Jacqueline may not know her son very well, which shifts the latter’s mood. “Hindi mo kami kilala,” Jacqueline says, which Stella counters with, “Hindi mo rin ako kilala.”
During their talk, Vincent arrives at the bar and notices one of their family drivers waiting outside, giving him a hint that Stella is being cornered. Vincent rushes toward the VIP rooms and immediately stops Jacqueline from what she is doing, shocking her upon seeing him inside the bar.
