In the aftermath of Anton’s (Jameson Blake) uncontrollable beating of Mel (Sue Ramirez), Beth (Charlie Dizon), and Erica (Kaila Estrada), the three are rushed to the nearest hospital as Locsin records their statements
Alice (Janella Salvador) also accompanies them, having been the one to stop Anton from strangling Erica to death. After Locsin leaves the room, reassuring them that Anton is under a secured hospital arrest, a confrontation ensues, with Beth asking how long Anton has been hurting Mel.
Mel refuses to answer, breaking down in tears once more. Seeing her hesitation, Beth recalls small details that could have revealed the extent of Anton’s abuse, including how the controversies that painted Mel as the perpetrator were, in fact, false.
As Beth probes further, asking why Mel endured the abuse and never left Anton, Mel raises her voice, insisting that she has been handling it because she had no choice. With so much to lose, including the career she worked hard for, she believed no one would believe her, as women are often reduced to villains.
Erica takes over the conversation, realizing why Mel wanted to stay at Alice’s, and asks if Anton has been threatening her. Soon discerning that it has been happening for a long time, Erica urges Mel to open up more, but Mel tells them not to look at her with such pity.
Startled, Alice voices how Mel must have feared they would judge her and ultimately chose to keep the truth to herself. The moment Alice emphasizes that they are friends that she can lean on, Me intervenes, pointing out Alice’s previous secret about dealing with resurfacing trauma and marital issues as well.
Agreeing, Alice admits that they have not been the best of friends for a long time. To this, Beth adds that what matters now is that Mel does not return to Anton, a resolve that Mel finally echoes.
Erica ends their discussion by gently reminding Mel that she will help with her case, fully committed to freeing her from Anton’s clutches.
