Mia (Anne Curtis) steps out of her room and finds Patrick (Joshua Garcia) stitching Satsat back together. Curious, she asks how he manages to never lose his temper with his brother, to which he answers that he has simply grown used to being the one with longer patience and a greater capacity to give, since between the two of them, it is he who understands and expresses emotions more clearly. Mia smiles at this and teases that it’s exactly why they make a perfect match—because while she is destructive and loud, he is calm and steady, always the one who keeps her from exploding.
She insists on resting on his lap. Unable to refuse, he lets her until she falls fast asleep. Patrick carries her back to her bed, lays her down with care, and places Satsat beside her as if to guard her dreams.
Old memories drift into his mind as he watches Mia sleep peacefully. A flashback shows young Patrick (Nathan Bulalacao) and young Matmat (Neil Comia Jr.) waiting for their mother Tess (Meryll Soriano) to finish her shift as a cleaner at the Hernandez mansion. Tess explained that she finished late in tidying up Mia (Ysabella Suare)'s room. Upon seeing how her son’s eyes lingered on the young girl, Tess promised that the next day she would ask Mia’s parents if they could play together.
Patrick let Tess and Matmat go ahead so he could approach Mia, ignoring his brother’s plea to let him be his playmate instead. But only for Patrick to feel rejected again as Mia pushed him away, declaring she’ll never like someone like him. With nothing else to do, Patrick left in tears.
Back in the present, Patrick now gazes at the sleeping Matmat, and once again, memories come back. Continuing from the previous flashback, Patrick started walking home but was startled to find Matmat alone in the middle of the forest path. Terrified, Matmat ran and led him deeper into the woods, where Tess was lying lifeless on the ground, her body bloodied as heavy rain poured down, while Matmat screamed over and over, “Paru-paro!”
