Patrick (Joshua Garcia) is left with no choice but to walk away and leave Matmat (Carlo Aquino) at Mia (Anne Curtis)'s mansion after the latter turns violent upon being told he can’t live there or work for her. In frustration, Patrick tears up the contract Matmat had signed with Mia.
Alone, Patrick recalls painful memories from his childhood, particularly the time his mother Tess (Meryll Soriano) scolded him for leaving his younger brother to play boxing, which led to Matmat getting beaten up by troublemakers because he wasn’t there to protect him. He remembers telling his mother that he doesn't want to be his brother’s nanny because he has his own life, even going as far as wishing Matmat would just die.
Guilt washes over Patrick when he notices the handwritten note on the contract, revealing that instead of monetary payment for illustrating Mia’s books, Matmat had requested a camping van. This brings him to tears as he remembers Matmat once sharing his dream to save up for one so they wouldn’t have to struggle moving from house to house whenever the rainy season begins.
