The noise from Patrick (Joshua Garcia) and Mia (Anne Curtis)'s argument at the mansion wakes Matmat (Carlo Aquino). Patrick explains that he only told Mia they were going home, but Matmat refuses to come with him.
Patrick’s temper flares when he learns that Matmat accepted Mia’s offer to be the illustrator of her books and even signed the contract she presented without consulting him. In a burst of anger, Patrick tears the document, triggering Matmat to start hitting him. Patrick simply lets himself fall to the ground, taking the repeated blows from his 'manong.'
Matmat insists that he has his own life, so he alone will make decisions for himself. Mia steps in and tells Matmat to go inside, saying that if he wants to live with her, that’s what will happen. She then offers her hand to help Patrick get up, but he ignores her. Before closing the door, Mia tells him that if he continues to let Matmat hurt him over and over and refuses to leave him, he will be tied to his brother’s life forever.
