At OK Hospital, Patrick (Joshua Garcia) finds Gemma (Kaori Oinuma) eating sour mangoes alone while looking out at the sea, tears in her eyes from being slapped earlier by patient Zelda (Ana Abad-Santos) during her tantrums. Knowing her well enough, Patrick understands that this is how she channels her frustration and pain—by eating sour food instead of taking it out on the patients.

They drift into a shared memory from the time they worked together at a different hospital when Gemma took the calamansi from Patrick’s meal after she had been pulled by the hair by a patient. Patrick made it a habit to always carry calamansi with him from that day on, just like now when he brings her an entire plastic bag of it.

Gemma laughs at the gesture, saying it’s as if he’s implying she will always be hurt by patients at OK Hospital, but Patrick only gives a faint smile and says it’s not necessarily the patients, though

she might still be hurt by what he’s about to say. And with gentle honesty, he tells her she is kind and deserving of a love that is whole, though he's unable to answer her question on whether he is rejecting her because he already likes someone else or because he and Matmat will eventually leave Maravida after a year.

What Patrick only manages to say is that he will understand if she ends up angry with him. But instead of taking offense, Gemma chooses to accept what he feels as long as they remain friends. Unbeknownst to them, Mia (Anne Curtis) has been quietly watching their shared moment.

Catch “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), A2Z, and TV5, weeknights at 8:45 PM. Watch it in advance on Netflix and iWant.
