At OK Hospital, Gemma (Kaori Oinuma) walks in and finds Patrick (Joshua Garcia) shirtless, with Mia (Anne Curtis) standing too close, making the moment instantly awkward.
Once it’s just the two of them, she asks Mia how she and Patrick met. At first, Mia looks hesitant to share anything, but something about the memory makes her smile, narrating how a near-death experience, when she pulled Patrick from the river, eventually turned into a string of sweet encounters, like how he kept following her around when they were still young.
For a moment, the ever-detached Mia allows herself to smile as she recalls how fate always seemed to nudge her and Patrick together. But Gemma isn’t buying any of it. She scoffs, dismissing Mia’s story as nothing more than a made-up fantasy.
Mia shrugs and tells her to believe what she wants. Then, almost mockingly, she throws the same question back at Gemma—how did she and Patrick meet? Mia reduces it to a plain, uninspired workplace story, as if saying it lacks the kind of magic she believes she and Patrick share.
