Heavy rain pours as Mia (Anne Curtis) arrives at OK Hospital, having driven all the way to the remote town of Maravida the moment she learned that Patrick (Joshua Garcia) is now working there, seemingly unfazed by the fact that her estranged father, Samuel (Michael De Mesa), is also confined in the same facility.
As she steps out of her car, her voice narrates a haunting story about a girl with red shoes. It's a tale of a girl who adores a pair of red shoes gifted by her mother, a love that spiraled into obsession. A soldier curses the shoes, making it impossible for her to stop dancing as long as she wears them. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t take them off. She dances relentlessly, until an executioner is forced to cut off her feet just to make it stop.
“A beautiful story about obsession,” she muses.
Inside the nurse’s station, she finds Patrick staring blankly at the flickering overhead lights. And as she sees him, she thinks to herself, “I found my red shoes. Nahanap ko na ang kailangan ko.”
