Mia (Anne Curtis) makes her way to the far-flung town of Maravida, not to visit her estranged father Samuel (Michael de Mesa), who is confined at OK Hospital, but to drop by after learning that Patrick (Joshua Garcia) has started working there.
As she steps into the nurse’s station, rain still pouring outside, she catches sight of Patrick staring at the flickering lights. When he turns to her and asks why she’s there, she simply smiles and replies, “Destiny finds us.”
Patrick cuffs and turns his back, but Mia stops him, saying that she’s realized he’s the same boy she once met in childhood. She then asks how long he’s known, and Patrick admits that he pieced it together ever since his brother Matmat (Carlo Aquino) took an interest in her books and he read somewhere online that she was originally from Maravida. But even with that knowledge, he insists that it doesn’t matter anymore—what’s past is past.
That answer only fuels Mia’s growing obsession, and declares she wants Patrick. She tries to invite him to dinner but he refuses. Before the tension could escalate further, Nurse Olivia (Maricel Laxa) walks in and invites Mia to meet with Doc Anok (Bobot Mortiz) in his office.
