Eighteen years may have already passed since they officially ended their highly publicized romance in 2007, but there still seems to be people who haven’t moved on yet from the real partnership that blossomed between Erik Santos and Rufa Mae Quinto.
Among them is juror Sharon Cuneta, who started teasing the guest juror for Round 7 of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 4” about his romantic past with the “Comedy Bombshell” after learning from Jason Dy, who transformed into Ed Sheeran and performed “Perfect” in the December 27 episode, that the song was actually written by the English singer-songwriter for his best friend-turned-wife.
This prompted the Megastar to ask Erik if he believes in destiny and to reminisce about his and Rufa Mae’s journey that she’d personally witnessed as a guest in one of their concerts in the past. The “Prince of Pop” acted up in jest, remarking how he seemed to be always the “bunot” or target of humor in the show.
“When we are in a relationship, parang gusto mo siya ‘yong endgame mo. Palaging gano’n. Pero marami kayong pagdadaanan, syempre hindi naman natin alam kung kayo talaga ang magkakatuluyan o hindi,” Erik stated and went on to utter that he doesn’t have romantic feelings towards Rufa Mae anymore.
Jason Dy then supported Sharon in poking fun at Erik by copying the voice of his fellow celebrity performer as he conversed with the guest juror when it was his turn to give his comment on Jason’s performance.
Erik then went on to make everyone kilig—most especially Sharon—when he mentioned that the necklace he was wearing for this episode was actually given to him by his “ex-babe”.
