Portraying the role of Mara de Jesus, a beauty queen in her upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 movie “Call Me Mother,” Nadine Lustre underwent proper pageant training to master how a beauty queen acts, talks, and moves with grace---and she proved it even more during her Kapamilya Chat guesting last December 16.
Nadine had to answer random questions using the iconic beauty queen intro, “I believe…,” and she dove right in. She picked a number---just like in a real pageant---and got Question 11: “Ano ang pinakamagandang payo na natanggap mo at paano mo ito ina-apply sa buhay?”
Her answer was all about slowing down, reminding us the value of rest, “I believe na lahat ng tao may limitasyon. ’Wag nating kakalimutang magpahinga, mag-relax, mag-unwind, and huminga.” Even if Nadine thought it was a weak answer, it's exactly the kind of message everyone needs to hear.
Nadine drew another number and landed on Question 3, “Paano mo ipinapakita ang pagiging matatag sa panahon ng pagsubok?” This time, she paused, ditched the “I believe…” format, and answered straight from the heart.
She described herself as someone who has learned to understand how emotions work and how life unfolds. “Ang promise ko sa sarili ko is, lahat ng mangyayari sa’kin, [whether it’s] good or bad, tatanggapin ko ’yan. I’ll accept it wholeheartedly, and alam ko na it’s part of my growth. They’re all lessons.”
She continued to keep things real, saying she still makes mistakes, faces challenges, cries, and even burns out---and she's not shy to admit it. She emphasized that it’s important to acknowledge that life won’t always be good, “You really have to go through all of the dips for you to understand kung ano ba talaga ‘yung ginhawa, ‘yung happiness.” She ended by saying that she shows strength by embracing life’s highs and lows, “’Yun ang nagpatatag sa akin.”
