On December 4, Mika Salamanca and Brent Manalo, together known as MikBrent from “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition,” gave fans a treat on Kapamilya Chat when they tried recreating some of Star Cinema movie posters in the challenge “Movie Poster Remake.”
As they gear up for their first Metro Manila Film Festival film “Call Me Mother,” Brent and Mika gave a glimpse of what it might look like if they starred together as a loveteam in their own movie.
They started with “Rewind,” starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, holding hands and copying the emotions of the original poster. Next was “It Takes a Man and a Woman" which starred Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz, where Mika and Brent locked eyes and held hands, reenacting the romcom’s signature pose.
For “Can’t Help Falling in Love” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, Brent held Mika’s hand while Mika copied Kathryn’s surprised expression, which drew laughter and kilig from the audience. They also recreated Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s “My Love Will Make You Disappear,” standing close under an umbrella and maintaining eye contact for that intimate feel.
When asked what genre they’d like for their first movie together, Mika joked about horror before saying romcom, while Brent admitted horror would be a challenge but fun to try.
Finally, they ended with “The Hows of Us” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, hugging each other while seated. Mika and Brent leaned into the pose, hugging closer, which sent fans screaming in kilig. The comment section was filled with heart emojis, sweet reactions, and playful requests for more.
Can't get over MikBrent’s sweetness during the challenge? Catch them in the upcoming Star Cinema movie “Call Me Mother,” an official entry to the 2025 MMFF, premiering this December 25.
