From blowing our minds with his transformation into Princess of Pop Britney Spears, in the Week 4 of “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” Jason Dy had gone on to showcase his crooner side as he transformed into Concert King Martin Nievera in his younger years for the fifth round of the competition.
“Ang laking pressure. Talagang maraming humahanga sa kanya. So, kailangan talagang galingan this week,” he conveyed as he underwent mentoring sessions with both Klarisse de Guzman and Nyoy Volante. Even though he’s a singer, Jason admitted that impersonating Martin was still a challenge for him since they have totally different singing styles.
Klarisse advised Jason that in order to pull off a fantastic impersonation of the OPM legend, he must keep in mind that the Concert King has a deep and powerful voice, as well as to observe his distinct vibratos and pronunciations of certain syllables and vowels. Nyoy, on the other hand, reminded them that even though Martin usually does small movements every time he sings onstage, he remains energetic, as seen in how he exaggeratingly opens his mouth and shakes his head to put emphasis on some parts of his songs.
