The rest of the Guerrero family may have been treating Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) unpleasantly due to his “offenses” against them—from having a relationship and impregnating their unica hija, Erika (Gillian Vicencio), who’s actually his cousin, to being the brother of Tanggol (Coco Martin)—but not their patriarch, Don Gustavo (Dante Rivero).
Right from the very time that they’d met and then found out that he’s the son of his illegitimate daughter, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache), to her beloved Matilde (Charo Santos), the old man had already since has a soft spot on the young man. He didn’t just warn his son, Miguelito (Jake Cuenca), against bullying and assaulting him, but he also allowed Santino to join them for breakfast despite the protests of Jackie (Angel Aquino) and Miguelito.
In their latest chat, Don Gustavo gave him a few pieces of clothes for him to look more decent and even opened up about his frustration to his family, who has already neglected him and treats him as if he’s already worthless, especially now that the three of them are already in power. Santino, at the same time, imparted his ultimate ambitions in life, which are to become a world boxing champion and for his family to be complete again.
Before he left, Don Gustavo asked Santino to start calling him “lolo”, or grandfather, which the latter instantly heeded.
