Meet Sparkle’s Heath Jornales, the martial-arts cutie who can throw a punch and melt hearts just as fast. He's got the moves of a fighter and the face of a heartthrob.
We think by now, more people are getting curious about the "Fighting Prince ng Taguig" after he was revealed to be part of "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0." So don’t bother scrolling deep—we did the digging for you and put together a quick crash course to get to know the boy everyone’s about to root (and maybe swoon) for.
If his last name rings a bell...
that’s because Heath’s dad is none other than Michael Roy Jornales, the martial artist, actor, and fight director you probably remember as Chikoy Rivera, one of Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin)'s squadmates in "FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano."
Looks like the apple didn’t fall far from the action-packed tree. Heath has the same love for adrenaline as his dad, as well as the same drive for acting. He looks up to him big time, and they've even worked on a teleserye together, with his dad as the fight director, though they haven’t shared a scene just yet.
He actually started doing commercials at just nine years old, then joined GMA’s Sparkle five years ago. Fast-forward to now, and this young talent already has a few primetime projects under his belt.
The 16-year-old Kapuso dreams of starring in an action movie someday, and with the way he trains (often with his dad), it doesn't sound far-fetched. He’s got a brown belt in taekwondo and also practices Muay Thai, boxing, jiu-jitsu, arnis, and nunchucks. Whoa, that’s a full martial arts multiverse right there! When he’s not throwing punches, you’ll catch him out on the trail with his motorbike, which he considers his biggest splurge yet.
But beneath the tough guy appeal....
he's got a soft side too! Heath is the only boy in a brood of three, sandwiched between two sisters, Heather, 21, and Harah, 11. The trio is super close and often plays online games together, but like any typical brother, he says growing up with two sisters was mostly fun and sometimes frustrating.
He's just as sweet to his parents. If his dad is his partner in action, his mom Gemmalyn is his go-to for life advice. Somebody raise the standard, because Heath is such a gentleman that he’s kept his mom’s rule about not dating until he turns 18. That’s why he’s never courted anyone yet. So to all the curious girls out there, yup, he's single.
When he's not in fighter mode...
he switches to his artsy side. This housemate is into music and photography, and even plans to take a degree related to them someday. Yep, this charmer can sing and play the guitar too. He loves writing songs about love and already has six originals, with his personal fave titled "Back To You."
He’s currently a Grade 11 homeschooler. Having never gone to a regular high school, he sometimes wishes he had those classic campus 'barkada' core memories. Still, he’s found his own version of that in showbiz, where he’s closest to his Sparkle buddies Geo Mhhana (his ride-or-die), Egypt Larkin, and Esther Mounter.
