He may have just officially broken into show business a few months ago, yet up-and-coming actor Joaquin Arce is now ready to enter another door of opportunity opened for him—to become one of the official housemates of the highly anticipated “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab 2.0” coming this October 2025!
But before we get to see “Ang Rising Dreamer ng Muntinlupa” inside Bahay ni Kuya, let’s get to know him first via this feature!
While his undeniable handsomeness and charm are enough to pique everyone’s interest, he has indeed further caught our attention when Angel Locsin surprisingly broke her social media hiatus to reshare on her Instagram Stories his introduction reel posted by Star Magic last July 2025. She captioned it, “I, your mom, and your dad are very proud of you. Can't wait to work with you.”
And just in case you missed it, the reason why Angel did it was because Joaquin is the son of her husband, film producer and entrepreneur Neil Arce, with his former partner, Lesley Samson. Since Angel and Neil are both already seasoned in the field of entertainment, the newcomer is blessed enough to have found mentors in them.
During his interview with ABS-CBN showbiz correspondent MJ Felipe in an episode of “Are You G?,” Joaquin imparted that he actually has a tight bond with his Tita Angel, who, according to him, helped him prepare for one of his auditions. Meanwhile, it was his dad who encouraged him to pursue acting upon observing how passionate and promising he was during one of his initial workshops under Cornerstone Entertainment Inc.
The 18-year-old charmer claimed that he has always loved acting and further fell in love with it when he started doing workshops. As a kid, he also loved watching movies and series with his mom, whom he considers his best friend.
Little did he know that many years later, he would be the one to be watched onscreen after he signed up with Star Magic in August 2025, making him a showbiz neophyte. He immediately scored an acting project, which is the iWant mini sports series “Tropang G.O.A.T.,” wherein he plays Gino, a varsity volleyball player of his school.
Just like his character, Joaquin is also athletic in real life. He used to play basketball but is now into volleyball and takes on the middle blocker position. His brawny physique can be credited to his fondness for weightlifting, jiu-jitsu, and muay thai. Aside from physical sports, he also loves playing video games, like “Dark Souls,” “Roblox,” and many more.
Both his parents may be Filipino, yet English has been his first language ever since. Thus, he started to learn to speak Tagalog when he decided to enter showbiz and has been quite fluent in it.
Prior to his foray into showbiz, Joaquin made sure that he completed his high school studies first at De La Salle Santiago Zobel last May 2025—just three months before he was introduced as one of the newest talents of Star Magic. But he didn’t simply graduate, as he did it with flying colors by being a silver medalist in senior high school with an average of 96 and no grade below 90.
Unlike other people in his generation who don’t want adults to interfere with their lives or decisions, Joaquin actually asks for his mom’s approval whenever he has a crush on a girl—and she would be honest if she does or doesn’t approve of the girl for him. Since she is his best friend, he related that he has never been ashamed to tell her mom about everything in his life, even the secrets and wrongdoings that he doesn’t want other people to know.
Apart from being the one to ignite his interest in the entertainment scene, Neil seemed to have influenced him as well to become business-minded, as he recalled launching a sticker and a cookie dough business when he was still a kid.
For those who are curious if he’s currently in a relationship, well, Joaquin reveals that he’s single. He shares that he’s actually the date-to-marry type of guy since he doesn’t see the point of dating someone just for fun. He wants to have a family of his own in the future and to be a good father.
And lastly, whenever he’s not busy with work or his other endeavors, then you may find Joaquin meeting up and hanging out with his friend groups, usually in Alabang or in Bonifacio Global City.
Get the chance to further know him better once “PBB Collab 2.0” officially kicks off this coming October 25 (Saturday) on Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), iWant and GMA 7.
