A decade after singing Disney's Moana theme song, Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as she paid tribute to one of the biggest milestones of her career.
On social media, Janella shared photos of herself transformed into the beloved Disney heroine following the release of the live-action adaptation of Moana, delighting fans who fondly remembered her rendition of the film's iconic theme song.
“Can’t believe it’s been 10 years!! The amount of love I still receive for this soundtrack is actually so crazy to me. Moana at heart. Forever and always. β€οΈπ₯,” Janella wrote in the caption.
Back in November 2016, Janella was chosen to perform "How Far I'll Go" for the Philippine release of Disney's Moana, making her one of several Southeast Asian artists tapped to record localized versions of the film's signature song.
As part of the campaign, the actress also met AuliΚ»i Cravalho, the original voice of Moana, along with fellow singers from across Southeast Asia who represented their respective countries.
In a previous interview, Janella described the opportunity as her “most international (gig) representing the Philippines in Southeast Asia.” She also shared that it was a proud moment for her to record the song.
Ten years later, Janella reunited with the world of Moana by hosting a block screening of the live-action film for Disney Studios Philippines. She attended the event with her son, Jude, and rumored partner Klea Pineda.
“Jude and I had so much fun hosting last night’s block screening for @disneystudiosph! Happy to see that everyone had a great time experiencing the Moana magic once again π₯₯ππ§‘β¨ #MoanaPH” she posted online.

“Wow, hats off to your incredible team, stylist, makeup artist, and photographer! The creative direction of this shoot is absolutely breathtaking, and everyone involved did a phenomenal job bringing this vision to life. You look stunning!” a netizen shared.
Another one commented, “OG ππ You represented Philippines so well in Singapore that time ππ» never forget views went to 50 million and blocked it, the foreign reactors were so amazed with your version, went to 100 million views, then they had to delete it, so you will only see the reposted one. 10 years passed and yours is still as iconic ever, a masterpiece π.”
