On July 9, 2012, ABS-CBN premiered one of its most beloved television series, Be Careful With My Heart, starring Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap. The series went on to redefine morning television, becoming part of the daily TV habit.
The series followed Maya (Jodi), a devoted daughter from San Nicolas who dreams of becoming a flight attendant. In an unexpected twist, she finds herself working as the nanny of Abby, the youngest daughter of the wealthy and strict Richard "Sir Chief" Lim (Richard Yap), in exchange for a scholarship that would help her achieve her dream.
Running for more than two years, Be Careful With My Heart became a daily source of comfort for Filipinos around the world. Through its lovable characters and feel-good storytelling, the series celebrated family, perseverance, kindness, faith, and the spirit of "kapit-bisig."
Fourteen years since it first aired, here's a look at where the cast members are now:
Jodi Sta Maria
Jodi portrayed Maya Dela Rosa, the kind-hearted and optimistic young woman who eventually won Sir Chief's heart. The two later got married and welcomed twins Sky and Sunshine, completing their family of seven.
Recently, Jodi starred in the film Midnight Girls, while her last television drama was Lavender Fields. She also reunited with Janella Salvador in the reality cooking show Kumusta. Outside of acting, Jodi has been sharing her travels around the world and is currently finishing her master's degree in psychology.
Richard Yap
Richard played the reserved yet caring Richard "Sir Chief" Lim, owner of Lim Aviation Services and father to Luke, Nikki, and Abby. His slow-burn love story with Maya became one of the show's beloved arcs, making it popular even after years.
Richard reunited with Jodi in Unbreak My Heart in 2023 before appearing in Never Say Die in 2026. In 2025, he starred in Ang Happy Homes ni Diane Hilario with Angeline Quinto. He also continues to balance acting with his business ventures.
Janella Salvador
Janella made her television debut as Nikki Lim, Sir Chief's sassy and outspoken eldest daughter. Throughout the series, viewers watched Nikki mature as she developed a romance with her brother Luke's best friend, Nicolo.
Since then, Janella has become one of her generation's most sought-after actresses while also pursuing music. In 2025, she starred in What Lies Beneath and the sapphic film Open Endings. She also reunited with Jodi in Kumusta. Janella is now a proud mom to her son Jude.
Mutya Orquia
Mutya captured viewers' hearts as Abby Lim, Sir Chief's youngest daughter, whose close bond with Maya helps her overcome a past trauma.
After Be Careful With My Heart, Mutya continued to act in various television dramas and films, including What Lies Beneath and The Silent Noise. Although not officially confirmed, Mutya is also reported to be in a relationship with former child actor Miggs Cuaderno.
Jerome Ponce
Jerome portrayed Luke Andrew Lim, Sir Chief's responsible eldest son, who eventually followed his father's footsteps in the aviation business.
After the series, Jerome starred in Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita, The Good Son, A Soldier's Heart, Safe Skies, Archer, Para sa Isa't Isa, Golden Scenery of Tomorrow, and I Love You Since 1892.
Marlo Mortel
Marlo played Nicolo "Mallows," Luke's best friend, who eventually fell in love with Nikki.
Marlo went on to establish himself as both an actor and a recording artist. He has appeared in several television dramas, films, and musical productions while continuing to release music and perform in live shows.
Sylvia Sanchez
Veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez portrayed Maya's loving mother, Aling Teresita Dela Rosa. Beyond acting, Sylvia has now ventured into film production through Nathan Studios while continuing to appear in various television and movie projects.
Ice Seguerra
Ice Seguerra played Cristina Rose or Kute, Maya's supportive older sibling and Cho's mother. Today, Ice remains active in music and live performances. Together with his spouse, Liza Diño, Ice also runs Fire and Ice Entertainment and is set to reunite with fellow Sessionistas for a concert this August.
Gloria Sevilla
Known as Queen of Cebuano Movies, veteran actress Gloria Sevilla played the role of Manang Fe, Sir Chief's longtime nanny and the Lim family's trusted housekeeper.
After the series, she appeared in Doble Kara, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, and Asintado. Gloria passed away in April 2022 at the age of 90, leaving behind a remarkable legacy in Philippine cinema.
Tart Carlos
Tart Carlos portrayed Doris, one of the Lim family's beloved house angels who welcomed Maya into the household. She has since appeared in television, film, and theater productions and also performs at Vice Ganda's Vice Comedy Club.
Viveika Ravanes
Viveika Ravanes played Sabel, another member of the Lim household who became one of Maya's closest friends. She continues to appear in television and film projects, including The Killer Bride, Mars Ravelo's Darna, Sins of the Father, I'm Perfect, and Blood vs Duty.
Micah Muñoz
Micah portrayed Kuya Joma, the loyal driver of the Lim family. Since the show ended, he has continued acting while pursuing his passion for sports, including golf, cycling, and marathon racing. In 2023, he married his non-showbiz partner, Toni.
