Kapamilya actress and host Kim Chiu revealed why she decided to make her birthday celebration a little different this year. In her latest vlog, the star of The Alibi showed how she spent her special day by giving free gas to drivers.
She was able to help out 600 drivers through her initiative. Aside from the free gas, she also gave out some grocery items for the drivers’ families as well.
“Ang sarap mabuhay to give, to receive love, to give love, and to spread love and joy. It is indeed a happy birthday,” Kim said.

The free gas and grocery packs were made possible through the closet bazaar she held earlier this year. The earnings she had collected then were allocated to help out the drivers and their families.
In the vlog, Kim was seen going around three different gasoline stations across Quezon City. She personally handed out the grocery packs and the stubs for the gas allocation to the drivers who were all smiles as they met the Kapamilya actress.
The It’s Showtime host also shared some of the learnings she had as she turned a year older last month.
“Life has this funny way of surprising you. It doesn’t wait until you’re ready, it throws you into moments you never asked for, situations you didn’t plan, and challenges you never thought you could handle,” she said.
“But maybe, that’s the point–– because life does not put you where you’re comfortable, it puts you where you’re meant to learn, to stretch, to grow into someone stronger, wiser, and more understanding. This year, I realized that giving is actually another way of receiving,” she added.
From her closet bazaar up until sharing her blessings with the jeepney and tricycle drivers, Kim expressed how life was “making space” for the things that matter in her life.
“It’s not just about letting go of things, it’s about making space–– for purpose, for connection, for gratitude. In the middle of everything, I found having a small circle–– family, few real friends–– that’s where your life feels the most genuine,” she expressed.
“The safest and the fullest, not everything has to be big to be meaningful. Sometimes, those quiet moments, the simple laughs, the people who stay–– they’re the real celebration,” she maintained.
Kim remains grateful for the love and support that she’s been receiving throughout the years from her family, friends, and loyal fans.
“Today, I’m not just celebrating another year. I’m celebrating growth, lessons, and the kind of love that keeps me grounded. It is a happy birthday,” she ended.
